Social Science

The social science curriculum, following California state standards, covers Ethnic Studies, Geography, World History, US History, Economics, and Government. Students learn about key events, figures, and movements in history, and develop critical thinking skills through analyzing primary sources and engaging in discussions. The curriculum also emphasizes the development of research skills and an understanding of civic responsibilities.

35 credits are required for graduation.

  • 5 credits Ethnic Studies/AP Geography
  • 10 credits World Civilizations
  • 10 credits United States History
  • 5 credits American Government
  • 5 credits Economics

Two years of Social Science are required for the "A" category of the UC/CSU entrance requirement.
