TEACHER NEWS

Mr. Aaron Peck put Pacifica High School on the map with a very cool story. A Monarch butterfly flew through his window while teaching and landed on his shoulder. To Mr. Pecks surprise, this butterfly had a tag with an Arizona phone number on it. When he called, he reached a naturalist Mr. Joe Billings. ACADEMY NEWS

HEALTH SCIENCE ACADEMY (HSA)

HSA Class of 2021 dissected minks today in Physiology. Students are currently studying the muscular system & used the minks to identify muscles.

HSA Juniors had a garden work this week at the PHS garden. Students harvested some fresh fruit & veggies, relocated plants, planted seeds & help move some mulch. Thank you @OUHSDfreshfood for having us at the garden!

HSA Juniors visited the UC Hansen Farm on Wednesday thanks to OUHSD Farm 2 School program. Students learned about sustainability in farming, made a healthy snack & learned how to compost.

Jessica Moreno, HSA Alumni, visited with Sophomores & Juniors yesterday. The students enjoyed hearing about her time in the academy & her career pathway to becoming a Registered Vet Tech

 

COUNSELING NEWS

Pacifica High School would like to thank Cesar Rangel from California State University Channel Islands who assisted over 50 students with applying to CSU’s this week. The application deadline to apply is November 30th.

SPORTS NEWS

FOOTBALL

On November 8th, a foggy night on East Gonzales, the Tritons beat Mira Costa, 35-10. On to the CIF Quarterfinals!

Pacifica Triton Football will take on Citrus Valley HS in the CIF Quarterfinals this Friday night, November 15th.  Game will be played at Buena High School.

PERFORMING ARTS NEWS

PIANO CLASS

Ms. Cranes Piano students creating Alberti Style Bass accompaniment and creating melodic lines. Piano class has grown tremendously this school year with the help of Ms. Crane. Shout out to the students in Piano and all performing arts classes. Keep up the great work!!
