By graduation, Pacifica High School students will be:

  1. Responsible, healthy, and productive citizens

    1. Complete assignments in a timely manner
    2. Attend school with a positive attitude
    3. Obtain gainful employment
    4. Participate in extra-curricular activities
    5. Recognize benefits of proper nutrition
    6. Punctual and properly prepared
    7. Demonstrate understanding of subject matter through quality assignments
    8. Develop a personal fitness program, take a physical fitness test and understand its meaning
    9. Students will show responsibility by attendance/tardy records
    10. Dress responsibly
    11. Will identify consequences of using or possessing drugs, alcohol or tobacco at PHS
    12. Will daily carry a binder, school supplies and a student planner
    13. Be able to explain, orally or written, the benefits or diet and exercise to achieve a healthy lifestyle
    14. Complete a set amount of volunteer hours
    15. Understand the value of higher education
    16. Become proficient and capable in a life long practice of personal health and fitness concepts and activities
    17. Become healthy individuals with positive self-esteem
    18. Adhere to school rules and policies
    19. GPA
    20. Attend a career fair
    21. Pursue college, vocational or career goals
    22. Utilize the Career Center
    23. Tutor a developmentally disabled student
  2. Problem solvers and academic achievers

    1. Produce (group) projects that involve brainstorming, combining learned skills, and utilize (cooperative) teamwork skills
    2. Give a presentation that focuses on effective communication, and knowledge of given area
    3. Perform well on standardized testing
    4. Become involved in peer resource and counsel with other students
    5. Tutor a low performing student
    6. Pass the CAHSEE
    7. Participate in SAT, AP or other achievement exams to obtain advancement after high school
    8. Become an effective grade level reader
    9. Raiser GPA
    10. Turn in required school work on time
    11. Be a student mentor
    12. Achievement on tests, assignments and projects
    13. Think critically and reflectively
    14. Utilize the computer effectively
    15. Meet high school graduation requirements
    16. Display growth on standardized tests

    6. Become knowledgeable, appreciative, and respectful of the arts
    7. Become confident in presenting themselves to others through multiple communicative forms, oral, written, visual, digital
    8. Gain competence in their knowledge and comprehensive of local, national, and international issues
    9. Demonstrate the ability to use a variety of resources to research a topic
    10. Be able to discuss an opposing viewpoint of mainstream American policy
